Autumn webinar series: How will they do it? Delivering a free breakfast club in every primary school

Taking a look at how Labour plan to deliver a free breakfast club in every primary school, especially important given the school-based early years provision plans.

Join us for the final webinar in our Autumn Webinar Series exploring Labour’s pledges on early years. In 2022, Bridget Phillipson announced that if elected Labour would introduce a free breakfast club in every primary school. There are already examples of best practice across the country. We hear from an expert panel on what is already working and how Labour can build on this to make a success of its pledge.

Labour party conference event: The Early Years Workforce - The Key to Opportunity for All

Under the new government there is a chance to rescue and reform early education in this country. One of the most key priorities will be supporting the early years workforce with a comprehensive recruitment and retention strategy, recognising and rewarding the skills and experience of talented professionals. The Early Education and Childcare Coalition, representing over 30 organisations, discusses what the strategy and the further reform for early education needs to look like.

Autumn webinar series: How will they do it? Labour’s plans for 3,000 new nurseries

In the first webinar in this series, we’ll be discussing the new government’s plans to create 100,000 childcare places in over 3,000 new nurseries based in primary schools. The plan to boost provision, particularly in childcare deserts, was Labour’s key election promise but was met with mixed reaction. In this webinar we’ll hear some of these views including how similar models have been implemented in the past and understand what success would look like for children, parents, providers – and the new government.
