In the first webinar in this series, we’ll be discussing the new government’s plans to create 100,000 childcare places in over 3,000 new nurseries based in primary schools. The plan to boost provision, particularly in childcare deserts, was Labour’s key election promise but was met with mixed reaction. In this webinar we’ll hear some of these views including how similar models have been implemented in the past and understand what success would look like for children, parents, providers – and the new government.
Panelists include:
Eva Lloyd OBE, Emeritus Professor of Early Childhood, University of East London
Peter Hurley, Director of the Mitchell Institute, Victoria University, Melbourne
Neil Leitch OBE, Chief Executive, Early Years Alliance
Flora Wilkie, Children and Young People Advisor, Local Government Association
More speakers to be announced
The session will be chaired by Sarah Ronan, director of the EECC, and include an audience Q&A.
