Rescue and Reform: A Manifesto to Transform Early Education and Childcare in England
Our manifesto calls on all political parties to put early education and childcare at the heart of their plans for equality, opportunity and growth.
High quality early education and childcare provides children with the foundations for lifelong success and a social infrastructure on which families, employers and the wider economy relies.
Despite having so much to be proud of, our current early education and childcare system is underfunded, unequal and inaccessible to the people that need it the most. Continuing with the current model is not an option.
Rescue interventions are urgently needed to stabilise the sector.
Alongside this, any new government must set out a bold programme for reform that creates a new model for funding and delivery to ensure that early education and childcare achieves its full purpose for all children, families and the wider economy.
Our manifesto provides a roadmap for moving beyond crisis and towards a constructive, genuine partnership between all early years’ stakeholders and government.
All coalition members agree this is the way forward for children and parents, for providers and early years professionals, and for the whole of society.
Join us in calling on all political parties to rescue and reform the sector as outlined in in our manifesto by:
1.
Guaranteeing that all children can access inclusive, high- quality provision that is affordable for their parents.
2.
Committing to sustainable and fair funding for all types of providers.
3.
Establishing and investing in an early years workforce strategy.
Join the call to rescue and reform early education
If, like our members, you believe that political parties need to be more ambitious for early education, we’d love you to show your support for our manifesto. By adding your name or the name of your organisation, you can help us build a movement that can transform early education and childcare in England.
